Daniel is 1!

Daniel turned one on February 27. I can't believe he is a year old! we had a party on Saturday the 28th at Leo's Place in Idaho Falls. He seemed to enjoy it and got lots of fun toys and clothes. He had his 12 month checkup on Wednesday March 4. He did really good. He weighs 19 lbs, 8 1/2 ounces, and is 28 1/2 inches. He is in the 10% for both. His doctor does footprints for babies, and handprints for older kids. They are so cute. Here is his.

Lindsay

Lindsay says the cutest things...here are some things she's said today...
[holding an old cell phone to her ear] "Hi daddy, I'm having a hard time here. We have a flat tire on our car, will you please come help us?"

and another...
"I will be good next year. I won't splash in the bathtub, I won't pee on the floor, I won't fight with Daniel and I won't have a fit when "Super-Diver" is over".

"Super-Diver" is actually the TV show Survivor, and she knows that when it's over, it's bedtime. She is so funny. She keeps us laughing and comes up with the funniest ideas.
One of her favorite toys is a doll she calls "Peter"- she named it after Peter Parker, aka Spiderman. She also has stuffed animals that she named MJ, Harry and the Sandman, all from the Spiderman movies. It is really cute.

our life

Saturday the 31st we went to the Draper Temple Open House. It was great. We didn't have tickets, but were still able to get in. They have you park at a church, watch a video about temples and then have tour buses take you up to the temple. They laid plastic mats on the floors instead of having you put booties on your shoes. It worked a lot better. At the Twin Falls Temple Open House, Lindsay freaked out with the booties, so I'm glad we didn't have to deal with them this time. It was very beautiful and both kids were very well behaved!

Then we went to Lonestar Restaurant for my grandpa's 86th birthday. It was fun to see everyone. Josh and I had never been to that restaurant, and we liked it.
This past weekend we went to Idaho for my sister in law Natalies, and my sister-in-law's sister Christine's baby shower. Natalie is having a girl (McKayla Leeann- I think that's the right spelling) on Feb 17, and Christine is having a boy (Landon Aldon) on March 5! We are excited for them both. They both got a lot of cute things!
The end of this month is Daniel's birthday! We are going to have a combined party with Remington (Jon and Natalie's son who is 5 days older than Daniel). We were going to have it at The Crossing in Idaho Falls, but we found out it's closed...So, we are revising the plans.
We got our taxes done this week and we're getting a refund from federal, Idaho, and Utah! They IRS makes deposits each Friday, so we were hoping to have it on the 13th, but they said it won't be here till the 20th. We are paying off some debt and saving some...and maybe spending a little.

Books

So I've added a list of all the books I've read starting October 2008. As you can see, I read a lot! I love reading and I read really fast. Right now I'm reading the "Left Behind" series, and I'm really enjoying it. It's not the usual type of book I read, but it is so good. I'm on the 9th book (there are 16 with the sequel and prequels), and I don't want it to end! I get all of my books from the library- really saves on storage/$!

what's happening

A sad event happened last week. The family that lived across the street the entire time I was growing up lost their grandson. I went to school with his dad (he was 2 years older). The little boy was almost 4 years old, just about 8 months older than Lindsay. They are not sure what happened- he had been acting sick and wasn't oxygenating. Way sad. He had a twin brother. They are in our thoughts and prayers.
On happier news, this week is my grandpa's 86th birthday. We are going to dinner with my extended family on Saturday, and also going to the Draper Temple open house with my parents. We are excited for that!
Then the next weekend we are going to Idaho for Natalie and Christine's baby showers! They are the same day, but thank goodness, not at the same time. Lindsay is excited to see grandma and grandpa and Hannah.
Then the end of February is Daniel's birthday! We are doing a combined party with Remington, his cousin who is 5 days older! He's such a big boy!
