We finally caught the mouse! As of right now, we don't think there are any mice! Tuesday night, Josh went to Lowes and got some better built traps. We put it under the bathtub, and that darn mouse figured out a way to eat the peanut butter without setting the trap off! Darn thing! I said we would try these traps one more time, and then, we were getting your sticky traps, Christine! (Josh didn't want a sticky trap at first because he said he didn't want the mouse looking at him while he disposed of it- he wanted the thing dead). Well, Josh rigged up the mouse trap so that even one of Lindsay's tiny socks set it off. Whoever assembled these traps at the factory had put the pin on backwards. So anyways, we got that all figured out and set 3 traps last night. About 4 this morning, we heard a SNAP! The mouse was caught! Josh left 2 of the traps under there, just incase we have any more visitors.
So, a little of topic, we enjoy watching Home Improvement reruns on Nick at Nite. We were watching it last night, and Tim was talking about "Building a better mousetrap". We laughed because Josh had just barely "built a better mouse trap". I guess it was funny if you were there. Anyways, I wish I could watch Home Improvement in order, because they just play the reruns randomly and its kind of hard to follow the story and what's happening. Also, there are a few inconsistencies- Like I never know if Al is dating Eileen, or Trudy, or if he is single. I know you can get them on Netflix, but I don't want to pay for that right now. I wonder if you can buy the whole series on ebay or something.
So, now that the mouse is gone, I don't know what I'm going to blog about. Maybe our trip to Twin Falls this weekend! We're going with my parents to the Temple Open House and going to dinner. I'm excited. Then Sunday, we're celebrating my SIL's birthday.

Mouse, Part 2
Well, we thought there was only one mouse. Turns out, there's another one in our house! We are thinking it spends the days in the crawl space, but at night it likes to go under the bathtub and make a lot of noise trying to get out into the house. We have a jetted tub so there is an opening from the tub into our room for the electricity to the tub. Well, the mouse has tried to get out the opening. Josh nailed a board over it. I don't really care if it stays under the tub (I just won't be taking any bubble baths for a while), but I just don't want it to come into the house. I hope it finds a new home soon. If I liked cats, we'd be getting one today. I'm debating about it, but I don't know what we'd do with the cat after the mice were gone.

Intruder!
Okay, so one of my biggest fears is someone breaking into my house. Luckily, it wasn't this kind of intruder we had Friday night, but one of a different variety. Yup, we had the first mouse in our house in 4 years! It's crazy what kind of trouble one little mouse can cause. The story actually starts last weekend. Josh is a scout leader, and last weekend they had a campout. He only went on Friday night, since he had other commitments Saturday morning. So, Josh was the one to bring the food. He put it in our cooler, and just left it up there with the scouts for their breakfast Saturday morning. So, we just got our cooler back last night, and it had been sitting outside, at the other scout leaders house all week. Little did we know, the scouts had left garbage and food in the cooler. So, when we brought the cooler in the house, we are assuming that is how the mouse got in. So, I was sitting on our bed feeding Daniel, and I saw a little furball run past the bedroom door. I wasn't sure what it was, and then I saw it again. I was so scared! I told Josh about it, and at first he wasn't sure I had really seen one, since sometimes I think I see mice when they are not really there. So, I'm there freaking out on the bed and Josh is trying to figure out what to do. He goes to Maverick, and they don't have mouse traps, so he went over to the Chevron station. They had one package of two traps that were kind of poorly built. Well, Josh gets back and puts peanut butter on them, and places them so the mouse is sure to run over one of them. The mouse was running from behind our bedroom door, behind our entertainment center, and behind my dresser, where he spent most of his time. Well, that darn mouse would run right past the traps and nothing would happen. Lindsay was supposed to be in bed, but she was curious what was going on. We told her there was a mouse in our room, and she was excited because she thought it was Mickey Mouse. She said, "Why is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse [her favorite show] behind mommy's dresser?" It was cute. I told Josh there is no way I am sleeping at home with a mouse in our bedroom. Not happening. So, at 10:30 I loaded up the kids and drove to my parents house in Shelley. They are currently on vacation, but I know they won't care I stayed there. Well, their neighbors across the street are watching their house, and they freaked out when they saw lights on and knew my parents weren't home. So, they called and were like, who is this? I explained to them the situation and they were glad it was just me. I am just really glad they didn't call the police, or my parents! That would have been bad. Anyways, Josh stayed here alone (well, him and Mickey), just waiting for the darn thing to get trapped. This morning, it still hadn't been trapped. So, he went outside and borrowed our neighbor's cat. The cat caught the mouse! The cat also tried hiding under our bed and wouldn't come out. Josh got it out, but not without it scratching him. Then the cat was scared, and jumped out our bedroom window, bending the screen in the process. So, there was a lot of craziness for one little mouse, but I'm just glad it's taken care of! So, I guess the moral of the story is, don't let the scouts leave a cooler outside with food and garbage in it, and then bring it in the house!

I had to do a picture of me without glasses, because on pics of me with glasses, it kept saying I looked like Larry King. Not cool.

Weekend
Saturday morning we were kind of upset about some personal circumstances, so we decided to go do something fun to get our minds off of things. We invited Rex and Patty, some friends from our ward, and their baby Eli, to go swimming with us at Green Canyon. They drove, since they have a vehicle who can fit everyone. It was really fun. Lindsay loves to swim and she hasn't got to go yet this summer. She scared us when she would get too far away from us though. I actually preferred the deep end just so I could hold on to her. Daniel wasn't too sure about the whole thing, but Eli loved it! It was good to get away for a little while. We ate dinner at JB's afterwards, which was really good. That night we were all really tired, and I was starting to not feel good.
Sunday morning I felt okay again. Josh went and did shuttles since he missed it on Saturday, so I took the kids to church by myself. That was the first mistake. Lindsay was acting awful in Sacrament meeting. Her nursery leader came and sat by us, and that did help, although it was kind of embarrassing. After church I was tired from hauling the two kids in and out, and I really didn't feel good. I pretty much spent the rest of the day in bed. Josh got home about 3 and made dinner and did the dishes. I hate being sick! Today I am finally feeling a little better.
Josh is in Rock Springs through tomorrow night, and when he gets home he has scouts, so it's just the kids and I for two days. I'm trying to keep the house cleaned and both kids fed and happy. I have pictures of us swimming, but the camera is still in the bag that Josh took on his road trip. So, I'll get them loaded later.
My birthday party with Josh's family was really fun. It was at his parents house. We had cake and ice cream, and everyone came except Jon and Steve, who were working. Josh's cousins Linda and Christie were here from Washington, and his friends Jeremy and Jess also came. Josh's parents got me gift certificates to JCPenney and Bath and Body Works. I've been instructed to spend it on myself and not the kids. So, that'll be fun. I want to get some sort of nightgown and a pair of shorts or capris, since I don't have either one. And, from Bath and Body Works I'm going to get bubble bath, lotion and hand soap. I love that store! Josh's brothers and their wives got me a Xyron machine. It's for scrapbooking, and it turns anything into a sticker. That'll be fun to try, too! It was a great party.
My parents are on vacation to see my brother in Illinois this week. We really wanted to go, but just really couldn't afford it. I wish we could have though. I love my nieces and nephews and it would have been really nice. My brother from Las Vegas is also flying up there. My niece is getting baptized Saturday. I hope they have fun!

Lost Cell Phone and Birthday plans.
So, Josh has a Saturday job doing shuttles. They go in a big van, and move people's vehicles who are floating the river. He really likes it. Anyways, Saturday he was at South Fork Lodge, and lost his cell phone. We couldn't figure out where it was. His boss didn't have it, it wasn't in the van. We thought it was lost for sure. Well, Monday we drove up there to look for it. Josh looked on the ground, checked in the lodge, and it wasn't there. He went back to look outside again, and he found it! It was on the ground near a stop sign, and the battery was dead. We were so happy. We were really lucky it hadn't rained and nothing bad had happened to it. We are looking forward to getting new phones sometime soon, but we are glad to have this one back for now. We celebrated by getting a square ice cream cone at Rainey Creek Commisary. Lindsay got chocolate and loved it. She ate about half of it. I got a single waffle cone, and Josh got a double waffle cone and ate the rest of Lindsay's and mine!
Also, today is my birthday! We celebrated on Sunday with my parents and Scott and Jennifer. From my parents I got space bags (they are awesome! I condensed almost all of my baby blankets!) and new sheets. Scott and Jennifer gave me a premier choice gift certificate that I can redeem at a bunch of different stores. This morning Josh gave me my present- a collection of 6 cd's from Michael Mclean. I love his music. Tonight we are going to Johnny Carino's with my parents and Scott and Jennifer, and a friend from the ward, Tracey, volunteered to watch Daniel and Lindsay, so that will be nice. Tomorrow night we are having a party with Josh's family. Yay for being 24!

Daniel's Blessing
We had Daniel's blessing on April 13, 2008. Since the 6th was stake conference, our ward had Fast Sunday on the 13th. Which is good, because Jon and Natalie blessed Remington on March 30, so it all worked out. Daniel wore a cute little outfit we had gotten at Target- neither one of us like the completely white suits for boys, so we found this one and really liked it. Josh gave the blessing, and in the circle was our Bishop, My dad, my brother Scott, Josh's dad, Josh's brothers Steve and Greg. I think that was everyone. Josh's grandpa also came but didn't stand in because his legs are bad and he can't stand very long. It was a great blessing. It was funny because afterwards I was wishing that I had written it down in shorthand, like my mom did for Lindsay, and I was mad that I hadn't. Well, my friend Christine came up to me and handed me his blessing, all written out! I was so happy! Thanks, Christine! We had a lunch at our house afterwards. It was a great day. Here are some pictures.
Our attempt at a family picture-Lindsay didn't want to cooperate, she wanted to play with her cousins.

She can't be bothered with pictures when her cousins are here!

Who does Daniel look like?
It's also hard to tell who Daniel looks like. I think he looks like Josh, and not really anything like me. According to this, he does look a little more like Josh!

Who does Linds look like?
Some people say Lindsay looks just like me, some say she looks just like Josh. Some people say they can't tell. Well, this explains it all- she looks like both of us!

4 months!
Yesterday was Daniel's four month check up. He is growing so fast! He weighs 14 pounds 1 1/2 ounces, and is 25 inches long. His head is 42 centimeters around. So, he is in the 30th percentile for weight, and 50th percentile for height. That means he weighs more than 30 % of babies his age and is taller than 50%. So, he is right around average. He also got his shots, and did pretty well. He only cried a little, but was fussy yesterday evening. I gave him a little infant tylenol, and he slept from 10 pm to 4 am, and then ate, and slept till 6. Now its almost 7 and he is back asleep. He is such a good baby! It was funny, during the check up, Lindsay kept asking, "Why is the dr. looking at his ear?" and "Why is the doctor looking at his tummy?". She is so curious and asks so many questions. She also got weighed and is 24 pounds. Daniel will catch up to her before we know it!

Reunions!
This weekend we had a lot of fun. Friday night, Lindsay and her cousin Hannah had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa T's. They had a lot of fun. They ate spaghetti, played with squirt guns, went to two parks, took a bath and slept in their sleeping bags. They are best friends. Hannah is four years old, but Lindsay thinks she is just as big. They love being together. It is really fun to watch.
So, since Josh and I just had Daniel, we decided to have a "stay-at-home Date" and watched "27 Dresses" and ate pizza. I really liked the movie (and Josh watched the whole thing). We had fun.
Saturday was Josh's family reunion. It was his Grandma G's brothers and sisters and all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was at Tautphaus park. Lindsay loved the playground, and we also went to the zoo and the Funland. Lindsay rode on the train (which she calls the "potty train", from when we were potty training her), the ferris wheel and the merry go round. Josh and I rode the Octupus, which is just as fun as I remember.
Sunday was Josh's mission reunion. He had never been to one for this mission president, so we decided to go. It was in Salt Lake. So, on the way down, we stopped and saw one of my freshman-year roommates, Andrea. It was good to see her- its been about 2 years since I had seen her. Here are some pics.
Josh's mission reunion was great. His mission president was an awesome guy. Josh had fun seeing those that he served with. They are having a big reunion in 2010 that we plan on going to.
So, we spent Sunday night in a hotel in Draper, and drove home Monday. It always takes longer to get home with kids! We had to stop 2 or 3 times so Lindsay could go to the bathroom and I could feed Daniel. It took 4 hours, but we made it. All in all, it was a great weekend!

Nursing

I love this cartoon! I'm nursing Daniel, and it is such a pain to go anywhere! I feel like I have to hide everything. I know I should be more comfortable with it, but it's hard. I am getting more comfortable with it though. He has to eat, and I hope no one has a problem with that. He's been EBF for four months now, and I'm shooting for eight more months! I only did about 4 months with Lindsay, and I kind of regret it. BFing is so much cheaper, and most of the time, easier than making a bottle, packing around formula, and all that jazz. So, here's my plug for BFing, even in public! Oh, and by the way, I do have a nursing cover (aka "hooter hider"), so I'm usually well covered. It is sssooooooooooooo much better than a blanket!
