This was on my friend Michelle's blog. You ask your kids these questions each year and see how their answers change. I think it's cute! So, here are Lindsay's answers at 2 1/2. (I would ask Daniel, but I don't think I'd get much of a response)
1. What was your favorite thing about the last year? Grandma's house!
2. What is your favorite thing to do? Going down the steps by meself (no, that's not a typo, it's how she says myself)
3. What do you want to be when you grow up? Play
4. Who is your best friend? My friends!
5. What do you want to learn this year? Friends

Fun in the Sprinkler! and other ramblings...
It was so warm this weekend that we put out the sprinkler for Lindsay to run through. She loved it! At first she was hesitant because the water was so cold, but she got used to it. She was so cute in her little swimming suit. I want to get her a little pool to play in. I think she would really like it. Here are some pictures.
Friday night was my last day at work. It was kind of bittersweet. I'll miss the people I work with, but it'll be nice not to have to work. I'm looking forward to not worrying about month end.
I heard it has been said that our church is really a lifestyle, and that was true this week. I went to church, playgroup, did an enrichment craft, went to the visitor center with the youth, and went to the temple. It was all really good though, and I'm grateful for it.
Lindsay picked me flowers on Saturday when she was working in the yard with daddy. They really were beautiful. I meant to get a picture, but by the time I found the camera, all the petals had fallen off. They were roses from our yard. Oh well, maybe next time!

Fathers Day
I wanted to pay tribute to the Fathers in my life. First of all, my husband. He is the best dad ever to our kids. Lindsay jumps for joy every day when he comes home from work. She loves playing "horsie" with him, giving him hugs and kisses and showing him what she has done that day. She is daddy's girl! Daniel loves his daddy also. He always gives him the biggest smiles and loves when Josh just lays and talks to him. Their dad is the best! Here is Josh holding them on the day they were born.
Lindsay and Daddy
Daniel and Daddy
I also wanted to pay tribute to my dad. He is the most patient man you have ever met. He doesn't let anything bother him. He loves to read and is very smart. Here is a picture of him and Daniel.
Josh's dad is also a great man. He raised five boys, loves his grandkids and works hard to provide for his family. He is always there to talk to. Here is him and Daniel!

Okay, so I got tagged by Christine
Here are the rules!
The Rules:
~Link the person(s) who tagged you
~Mention the rules on your blog
~Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
~Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them
~Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged
Here are my quirks!
1) I hate salt. I don't put salt on anything. Nope, not even a baked potato, tomato, watermelon, or anything else. My family puts salt on all of those. I don't even like olives, pretzels or mustard because they just taste too salty. Weird, I know. But maybe its helping my blood pressure or something like that.
2) Even though I'm right-handed, I do random things with my left hand. Like when I fold my arms, my left hand is on top. I hold my scissors like I was left handed, but hold them in my right hand (I failed cutting in kindergarten and still can't cut straight). When I'm organizing my thread for cross-stitching, I do it with my left hand.
3) I like writing out bills and mailing them. I think its fun to write the check, put it in the envelope, and the best part is putting on the address label and stamp (they're like stickers!). I don't especially like the money coming out of the account, but I enjoy paying bills.
4) I memorize numbers really easily. At work, I know everyone's employee ID number, and I also know the sku numbers to all the products I know most of the phone numbers and a lot of the license plate numbers of people in my ward and my parent's ward. I don't try to memorize them, they just stick in my mind!
5) I don't know if this is a quirk, but I decided to go to BYU when all my friends from high school went to BYU-Idaho. It ended up being a great experience!
6) I really like the show Curious George. It's also Lindsay's favorite show. It's really cute and educational, and its on twice a day! 8 am and 3 pm. So, I tell Linds if she takes a nap, she gets to watch George when she wakes up.
So, I tag Michelle, Naomi, Cathi, Liz and Tiffany

Yellowstone
Yesterday Josh, Daniel, Lindsay, my parents and I all went to Yellowstone. It was so much fun! We had gone last year with Lindsay and she was so good, so we thought we would do it again. She was so good this year as well. Her favorite part was seeing the boiling MUD! She kept calling it "pretty mud" and said it was so "Beeaaauuutifulll". We saw Old Faithful (barely- as we were walking through the parking lot it was going off), Dragons Mouth, Mud Volcano, Yellowstone Lake and Norris. While we were eating lunch a mommy elk and her calf walked through camp. That was cool! Our last stop was Norris. Josh and my dad wanted to take the long loop, which was a mile, and my mom and I and the kids went on the shorter loop (1/2 mile). It was kind of steep and hard to push the strollers through. By the time we got back to the van, we were exhausted. Well, my dad and Josh showed up about 5 minutes after us. We couldn't believe they went twice as fast as us. Oh well. Lindsay and Daniel were really good. Lindsay got a new Yellowstone shirt and some shiny rocks that are her new favorite toy. She also got one of those souvenir pennies with a hiker on it that she thinks is "Barbie". I can't wait to go back next year. Oh, and I would post pics, but we only took pics with our film camera (old school, I know). So, I could get them developed and scan them in, but it might be a while.

Luxuries

So, right now I have a sink and counter full of dishes waiting for me to wash. I'm one of those that is really behind the times, and doesn't have a dishwasher. Actually, besides a couple of years at BYU, I have never had a dishwasher! Crazy, I know. But, this morning I was thinking of things, and realized that approximately 50 years ago, I'm sure almost no one had a dishwasher. It's crazy how things that we take for granted now didn't exist not too long ago. There is a quote I heard from Mary Ellen Edmunds last year at Education Week. It goes "Little luxury, don't you cry, you'll be a necessity by and by." That is so true! High Speed Internet, dishwashers, and cell phones were luxuries once upon a time, now they seem like necessities to everyone (myself included). Our power has been going out quite a bit lately, and when the power goes out, we don't have any water. It is really annoying not to be able to do laundry, put on a movie for Lindsay, turn on the lights, or anything. Our world is really dependent on power/water. I'm going to try and do better and be grateful for what I do have. So, I'm going to go do my dishes and be grateful for the automatically hot, running water!

Weekend
We had a really fun weekend. Friday, we went shopping and to McDonalds with Grandpa and Grandma T to celebrate Lindsay being potty trained. Lindsay got 3 outfits for this summer that are so cute! (I'll post pictures when I can find my batteries for the camera). She loved eating and playing at McDonalds. We don't go there very often. I think this is the second time I've taken her there. So, it was really a treat and she loved it. Then Lindsay and I spent some time with Natalie, Jerome and Remington. Lindsay loves playing with her cousins. Saturday, we headed to Shelley. Josh and my dad went fishing all day, and my mom and I and the kids scrapbooked and went shopping. It was really fun. Josh and my dad caught almost 20 fish! (They only kept one). Sunday we went to church and just spent the day home as a family. I love my family and love spending time together.

Quitting
So I'm turning in my two weeks notice at work today. I'm kind of sad, but kind of relieved. I've worked there for 4 1/2 years. I started in sales, moved to services support, then to data entry full time. When Lindsay turned 1, I went to data entry hot shot, only working about 6 days a month. I have really enjoyed it. But with gas prices the way they are, it's not really worth it to drive to town, and get something to eat (for me, and for Josh and Lindsay). Also, since I am nursing Daniel, I really hated to leave him. So, I think it will be better for me to be home full time! I have made a lot of good friends there, including Michelle, Becky, Lynne, and Chris. None of them work there any more either though. So now I'm excited not to have to worry if things fall on month end. It will be really nice.

Finally!
I love looking at other people's blogs, and I've wanted my own for a long time. So, I'm finally getting a round to it! I think it'll be a fun place to record our kids' sayings and cuteness. To start out, I'll share a funny thing Lindsay did yesterday. She was in her room, supposed to be taking a nap. She got her door open, came into my room and said, "I need to say I'm sorry". Since we are potty training, I thought she had had an accident. But no, her bum was dry. So I went into her room, and there were kleenexes scattered from one end to the other. It was kind of funny how she knew she was being naughty. I wish I had gotten a picture. They are now in a huge pile on her dresser. I couldn't get them back into the box. Oh well.
Speaking of potty training, Lindsay is doing so well. We just started the end of last week, and she is doing great! She is in big girl underwear all day. I am so excited! Grandma T is taking her to McDonalds for a reward this week, and Linds is so excited.
